Couldn’t think of a thing to post this morning. Maybe a photo of my new grand dog?
Isn’t she adorable!? Here’s a photo of her getting her bath and another of her with her squirrel. She’s happy to be away from the pound and living a spoiled life now!
Isn’t she just too cute! Such fun to watch her doing all of the little things puppies do too!
Best part is grandma can go home and sleep soundly with her two daschunds who don’t have to go out at night!
Did anyone watch the special on HGTV last night “Leader of the Pack?” At first I was enjoying watching the seven dogs, kids and parents all running around and going crazy. Then as the show went on I became more and more upset.
Last night they let each of the children sleep with one of the dogs after they “puppy proofed” their rooms. But then, they all voted on which dog had to leave.
I know this is just another “reality show” with a twist to try to get viewers, but I was NOT impressed. Imagine giving YOUR child a dog, letting him/her sleep with it and then making him give it away? Not nice.
I don’t care that the dogs given away were given “good” homes! What about the children? What about the DOG?! How confusing for both to have a glimpse of love and security only to have it taken away!
I say, go to the pound or a rescue group, pick ONE/OR TWO that look like family and KEEP THEM! They need FOREVER homes! They have already spent enough time being lonely and unloved. Adoption is the BEST.
I’ve found and rescued many animals in my life. I have two dogs and two cats now the keep me company. No one will ever ask them to leave!
I won’t be watching any more episodes of that show. I don’t like the message they are sending.
If you’re thinking about getting a pet, rescue one and you’ll have a forever friend.
Big hugs and puppy kisses,
Kathi

Oh Ms Kathi, you're right...that is a horrible premise for a show! I just wanted to stop by and say hey and thank you for all your sweet comments. It's so nice to have such wonderful bloggy friends!
ReplyDeleteAnd that precious pink sewing machine you scored...BEST.DEAL.EVER. It is absolutely adorable.

That new puppy is so adorable, I just can't stand it.
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch that show, only because I already have a house full of screaming kids. I don't need to live it AND watch it. Now I'm truly glad I abstained from it.
TOTALLY agree with you! Amen to that!

Kathi she is precious! What a sweetheart. cherry
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Kathi - my oldest daughter (living with us since graduating from college) and I were just watching that this past week and said the EXACT same thing! I said, "I odn't get it, do the dog's that don't make the cut already have homes and are just used on the TV show?" Because it shows them being delivered to their 'forever' homes as soon as they were rejected. And the final straw (for me) was watching them give out the bones to the dogs who made the cut (like the bachelor type shows give out roses)... And the poor doggie who didn't get one was watching all the other dogs being handed these treats, and he was anxiously awaiting his and never got one!! OMG, that ripped my heart out. Like he understands what's going on...
ReplyDeleteI think their heart was in the right place, about adopting dogs from shelters rather than ever EVER purchasing them from pet shops, but it just left a bad feel in my mouth.
Thanks for the compliments on my newest birdies! ha ha I just can't get enough of birds it seems!... Donna @ An Enchanted Cottage
Oh, I forgot to tell you the most important thing - your grand pupster is GORGEOUS!!!!!!! What a sweet little thing and how wonderful to have found its forever home!!!... Donna @ An Enchanted Cottage
ReplyDeleteHi Kathi!
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling little face your new family member has!
I am writing an e-mil to HGTV right now....thanks for the heads-up...that is cruel. I am with you all the way....
love, kelee
p.s. thank-you for your kindest comments at The Katillac Shack...you make my world....!:)
Thank you so much for dropping by my new blog to welcome me to blogging. Already I am just amazed at what a warm and welcoming place Blogville is! I think I’m really going to like it here.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I haven’t seen the show you mentioned, I whole-heartedly agree that pets deserve a forever home and shouldn’t be passed around like chattel. As huge animal lovers, any animal that finds its way into our home is guaranteed permanent member status in our family until it dies. This world would be an even nicer place if more people would make that kind of commitment to these creatures that depend so much on us.
Please come back to visit me again when you get a chance!
Such a cute puppy. I don't watch TV, so I missed the show - but I sure can see why you were annoyed. Thanks for visiting me this Pink Saturday! Pink Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteGood for you Kathi! I feel the same way - all for ratings, no doubt.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable puppy! Thanks for visiting my blog, Kathi! I'll look forward to more of your posts!
